What Is Orthopedic PRP Therapy?

Orthopedic PRP Therapy uses concentrated platelet-rich plasma from your own blood to accelerate healing of musculoskeletal injuries and degenerative conditions. At Glory Regenerative Center, Dr. Ikudayisi — a Certified PRP Educational Consultant — uses advanced processing protocols to maximize growth factor concentration and delivers targeted PRP injections for conditions including ankle sprains, ligament sprains, osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, and shoulder, rotator cuff tears, tendonitis, and other orthopedic injuries. The concentrated growth factors in PRP stimulate tissue repair at the cellular level, promoting healing of damaged tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and joint tissue. Each 30-minute procedure is performed in our clinic, and most treatment plans include 2–3 injections spaced 3–4 weeks apart.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Orthopedic PRP therapy is appropriate for patients with ankle sprains, chronic ligament injuries, osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, or shoulder, rotator cuff tears, tendonitis, tennis elbow, and other musculoskeletal conditions that have not fully resolved with rest or physical therapy alone. It is also used proactively by athletes to accelerate recovery from sports injuries.

How It Works

1

Orthopedic Assessment

Dr. Ikudayisi evaluates your injury, reviews imaging if available, and determines whether PRP is the optimal treatment for your specific musculoskeletal condition.

2

Blood Draw & Processing

A blood sample is drawn and processed using advanced centrifugation to isolate highly concentrated platelet-rich plasma.

3

Targeted PRP Injection

PRP is injected precisely at the site of injury — tendon, ligament, or joint space — using ultrasound or anatomical guidance for accuracy.

4

Recovery & Follow-Up

Healing begins immediately at the cellular level. Most plans include 2–3 injections spaced 3–4 weeks apart, with progressive improvement over the treatment series.

What to Expect

Each orthopedic PRP session takes approximately 30 minutes. You may experience mild soreness at the injection site for 2–5 days, which is a normal part of the healing response. Strenuous activity on the treated area should be avoided for 1–2 weeks following each injection. Most treatment plans involve 2–3 injections spaced 3–4 weeks apart. Progressive improvement in pain and function is typically noticed within 4–6 weeks of starting treatment, with continued gains over 3–6 months.
